Hello Again…

We are still in California.

Our realtor seems to be getting contacted by a lot of people who swear they really love the place and don’t care about the space rent, only once they come to see the house, we never hear from them again. It’s more than a little disappointing and honestly it’s really frustrating. I may be biased, but I think we have one of the nicest homes in the park. It’s certainly nicer than any of the other ones that are also currently for sale. But, unfortunately, there’s not much we can do about it except sit and wait and pray that a buyer will come soon.

In other news, the Boyo started preschool last month and he absolutely loves it. We’ve had a bit of a hiccup with getting his IEP set up though – apparently the psychologist who was overseeing the process was new to the district and neglected to have us sign some paperwork. As a result of that they had to start the IEP process from the beginning again (we’re talking everything – evaluations, paperwork, etc etc etc) and that psychologist is no longer with the school. We should have everything finalized next week.

The Boyo’s therapy hours have also increased now that we’ve switched from the Regional Center over to insurance. He’s gone from having twelve hours a week to twenty six. It’s been a bit of an adjustment, but he seems to be handling it well. Honestly, I think I have a harder time with it than he did, but I’m learning to enjoy it. Especially since it’s given me more time to write.

The pen name project is ALMOST done. I know I’ve been saying that for over a month now, but I mean it this time. I am just two scenes away from the end. Once it’s finished, I’ll release the next part as an ebook. Then in a couple of months, I’ll combine the two and release it as an omnibus in both ebook and paperback format. Then I can get started on the next part of The Undying Ones. Speaking of which, I should probably post the next part of how The Undying Ones became The Undying Ones this weekend.

And that’s really all that’s going on in our neck of the woods. How is everyone else doing?

wippet-wednesday

It’s Wednesday, which means it’s time for another WIPpet post!

Since the pen name project is more adult in nature, I’ll be sharing some more snippets from the various fan fictions I have floating around. Today is the eighth of November, so here are eight lines from The Broken Man. This takes place while they are still on the train heading towards California.

Cressida plucks at a loose thread on her shirt sleeve. “And if he has? Impersonated you that is.”

“I’ll need to reach out to someone I can trust.”

“Like that brunette?”

Graves stares at her in confusion, but it’s only for a moment. “Tina? She’s trustworthy, but she’s not an auror anymore. She was demoted for getting too involved in a situation involving some scourers.”

“The Second Salemers.”

“Yes.” He frowns. “For someone who avoids her own kind, you are well informed.”

She shrugs, “Or you just think too loudly.”

“Unlikely.”

Keep on top of the IEPs… shove them and compliance down their throats if necessary (said as both a parent as a former teacher, meaning I’ve experienced the process from both ends)

I am admittedly not familiar with Broken Man, but I did find this intriguing.
